About Essential Addictions
My name is Renee and I am the owner & alchemist of Essential Addictions. It all began in 1994 when my first child was born. I wanted to use natural soaps and skin care products on him and myself but after delving in to what was available in the market place I found that everything contained harsh detergents, synthetic chemicals and petroleum based additives. With a lot of research and experimentation I was able to produce soaps, bath and body products that replaced the harmful chemicals with vegetable and fruit oils and natural plant based ingredients. My lotions and creams are created with herbal infusions and contain no alcohol, petroleum or paraben preservatives that are some of the toxins in over the counter products.
My family and I now live on an organic ranch in San Diego County, Calf. We grow many of the ingredients that I use in my products. My handmade products not only contain pure nutrient rich vegetable and fruit oils (such as shea butter, olive, jojoba, palm, coconut, wheat germ, hemp, sweet almond oils, grapeseed) but I also use essential oils, organically grown herbs, natural coloring and high quality fragrances. All of my products are made in small batches so that I can insure their freshness and quality.
Since 1994 not only has my family grown but Essential Addictions has grown to include many additional products. But the golden rule of Essential Addictions will always remain the same: everything must be healthy for the body, mind, spirit and environment and if it isn’t safe enough to use on my 3 children then it won’t be sold to the public.
