Shower fizzers and bath bombs are two popular self-care products, but what are the differences between them? While both shower fizzers and bath bombs can give you a soothing and luxurious experience, there are unique benefits to each one that make them special. Learn how these products differ and whether or not you can use shower fizzers as an alternative to bath bombs.
What Are Shower Steamers?
Shower steamers or Shower Fizzers as we call them, are small, fizzy discs that are intended for use in the shower. You may see them called by different names but Shower Steamers and Shower Fizzers are the same thing. Shower Fizzers are placed in the corner of a shower where hot water is present and the essential oil vapors rise to produce soothing aromatherapy like a sauna or steam room. Some of our Shower Fizzers contain menthol to open the sinuses and invigorate the senses.
The biggest difference between shower steamers and bath bombs is the moisturizing oils and skin soothing botanicals added to our bath bombs but not to our Shower Fizzers. Because a bath bomb dissolves in the bath water to soothe and moisturize your skin, it’s loaded with nourishing oils and moisturizing butters. These oils intended for your skin would make the shower floor slippery and dangerous, thus they are omitted from the shower fizzers.
Shower Fizzers are made of pure essential oils, extracts and menthol. Because they have no moisturizing oils in them, shower steamers are not interchangeable with bath bombs and for that same reason Bath Bombs should not be used in the shower as a Shower Steamer.
That being said, shower steamers can make a great addition to the bath, along with a bath bomb to boost the scent. Shower fizzers have a strong aromatherapy scent and can be broken into small pieces to add to your bath or a foot soak or facial steam.
In conclusion, shower fizzers can be added with a bath bomb for the tub but never use a bath bomb on the shower floor. That’s asking for trouble!
